The Invisible Moments That Change Everything
Some moments in life change us quietly. Not with fireworks, not with intensity, but with a soft inner recognition that rises through the body like truth coming home. Last week’s Firewalk and Empowerment Instructor Training was filled with those moments. The ones you can feel long before you can explain. The ones that remind us that transformation is an inside job long before it becomes a lived reality.
When a Story Falls Away
There was a moment during a breakthrough exercise when one participant looked at another and said, “You are unrecognisable from two minutes ago.”
And she was right.
A lifelong story fell away. A story that had made her dilute herself, doubt herself and overthink her every word. In seconds, it dissolved. It had never been true. She stepped back into herself with a clarity you could feel in the room. She filled her own body. She stood grounded, content and finally free of an identity that never belonged to her.
This is the magic behind the magic. The transformation that happens in silence, in presence, in truth. It is the moment the fire touches the heart long before anyone steps onto the coals.
Firewalking Is the Catalyst, Not the Destination
The firewalk itself is extraordinary. The week is intense, meaningful and rooted in decades of mastery from Peggy Dillon and the SUNDOOR lineage. I honour it completely. I teach the structure, but through my own lived experience, my own stories and the thousands of breakthroughs I have witnessed since 2008.
And let me be absolutely clear.
I did not wait around after qualifying.
From the moment I became a Firewalk Instructor, I stepped straight into leading firewalks and empowerment events of every shape and size. I led the army. Accountants. Solicitors. Medical conferences. Retreats. Corporate teams. Community events. Boardrooms. Kitchens. Fields. Stages.
If someone needed a breakthrough, I brought the work.
But teaching instructors is a different path. A sacred one. And I chose to step into that only when I felt ready to teach from depth, not technique. When my experiences, mistakes, surprises and breakthroughs had become wisdom I could pass on with integrity.
Why I Waited to Train Instructors
It took ten years before I felt ready to teach the teachers. Not because I doubted my ability to lead firewalks but because I wanted years of real stories — the ones that teach you how people think, fear, hesitate, avoid, rise and finally believe.
I wanted the moments that go wrong and the moments that go right in ways you never expect. I wanted the nights when the fire shows you something new. I wanted to understand energy, psychology and timing so deeply that I could read a room in seconds.
I didn’t wait to lead firewalks.
I waited to lead instructors.
And now I teach from a place of lived truth.
A Lesson in Clean Energy
Halfway through the training, something small happened at the venue. Nothing serious, just enough to stir irritation or resistance within each of us. I walked into the room and felt it immediately.
‘Now. The timing for the next breakthrough opportunity is now ..’
One of my team had a spoonful of chilli halfway to her mouth. She paused, nodded, and put the spoon down. We gathered the group and did the board break … not for performance, but for cleansing.
We moved energy cleanly.
Without blame.
Without projection.
Without story.
Afterwards, someone said, “That was a masterclass in moving energy without blame or accusation.” And they were right. This is empowerment. Not the loud kind. The freeing kind. The kind that gives people back to themselves.
What Being Unstoppable Really Means
Being unstoppable has nothing to do with force or frenzy. It has everything to do with removing the layers that silence us, shrink us or hold us back from hearing our own inner truth.
It is clarity.
It is alignment.
It is inner freedom.
When people say, “I feel like I could do anything,” I know they’re not talking about running a country or climbing Everest tomorrow. They’re talking about finally doing the thing their heart has been whispering about for years.
The Fifty Foot Firewalk They Never Saw Coming
On graduation night, the land offered us fifty feet of flat ground. So we used all fifty. When I walked the path and said, “This is your graduation firewalk,” the reaction was priceless.
Is she joking?
She must be joking.
She isn’t joking.
She is never joking.
And then I asked the question that mattered.
“In all this time together, have I been wrong about you yet?”
Sometimes we need someone who sees our capability more clearly than we do. Someone we trust enough to borrow belief from. They each walked the full fifty feet. Focused. Calm. Unstoppable.
Purpose Gives You More Energy Than Sleep Ever Will
By the final day, I had been up since 5.30am after a long night of fire tending and ceremony. We finished our graduation walk, returned to the sharing circle and someone whispered, “I would love another opportunity to do the rebar bend.”
And there it was.
Another moment that mattered.
So I lifted my energy and taught as if it were the first hour of the week. When you lead from purpose, energy arrives when you call it. We have far more strength inside us than we ever allow ourselves to believe.
What Truly Makes This Training Special
The breakthroughs were countless. The unity was deep. The transformation was visible in every face. And the feedback they offered afterwards made every moment of teaching, supporting and holding space utterly worth it.
This work creates leaders.
Heart led ones.
Present ones.
Transformational ones.
If the thought of becoming that kind of leader pulls at you…
If you know you are meant for more…
If something inside you is whispering “It’s time”…
Then maybe this path is calling you.
If You Feel Called to This Work
If you feel drawn to transformational leadership…
If you know you are meant for more…
If something inside you whispers that there is a deeper path for you…
Then perhaps this work is calling you.
Becoming a Firewalk and Empowerment Instructor is about learning the deep purpose of the techniques. It is about learning to lead from your centre. Your presence. Your truth. Your heart.
You do not have to know how.
You only have to feel the pull.
